A new trend in lighting is for sure the luminaires made of natural materials. Some of these materials are reed and rattan. They are two natural materials that have many application possibilities in lighting.
The fact that they are natural materials found in nature and that we use them without any process, makes the effect of their lighting quite familiar to humans. These materials can be found in various shades, and they are ideal in light colors. This is because the lighter their color is, the better is the lighting we get as a final result.
First we have to design the skeleton, that is, the shape that we want our luminaire to take. Regarding the shape of the luminaire, we do not have any particular limitation, and after we find the shape we have to decide the material that we will use to finish the fixture e.g. a piece of net or rattan. Then we decide what kind of knitting we will do. We have to place different rays in our luminaire if we want to do a sparse knitting, others if our knitting is horizontal or vertical and other if we want dense and diagonal knitting.
The lighting produced by such luminaires can be described as atmospheric. Of course the choice of the appropriate lamp also plays an important role in the end result. Mainly, we need a strong light, preferably LED, which is also dimmable so that we can adjust the illumination of our luminaire depending on the occasion and the use we make each time.
A common misunderstanding is that these luminaires can not be placed in homes but only in public venues such as clubs, cafes and hotels. All that we need is the proper decoration and these luminaires can fit comfortably in our space. The decoration that fits better is ethnic and the colors of our home and decorations should be earthy beige, and light brown.
